yes. updates. i have the sudden urge to type, to write something.
I have been thinking alot these few days and i always wanna pen it down here. But now, when i wanted to pen, my train of thoughts began to shuffle and becoming disorganised. Many things i would want to say but it seems that i'm lost for words.
Inflation has been the problem for all of us. A hike in prices for staple food, petroleum and now the ERP. Though i may not know how to drive a car, but i can empathise with the drivers as my dad drives as well. I can understand their predicament. Petrol is expensive compared to the previous times where it only cost 1.5 dollars per litre. But now it is 2.2 DOLLARS per litre. It may seem an increase in 70 cents is insignificant, but just think, with the long years to come, how much money we have to spend on petrol. Or think otherwise, how much money we can save from. It could amount to hundreds or thousands depending on the milage and usage of the car. Because of the inflation in petrol, the taxi fares have increased as well, though it happened a few years back.
Recently, the news reported that there will be an increase in ERP. This means more expenses will incur for the drivers. Well, maybe that is why more drivers are changing to hybrid cars where compressed natural gas can be used as an alternative fuel. I read that it can save quite an amount, but i do not know how true it is. Anyway, i do not have much knowledge regarding this. So i will just leave it be.
Staple food eh. Everybody's energy and neccessity. Rice is one food that we live to eat everyday. Have you ever fail to eat rice in a day? No i guess. We would eat once for a meal at least unless you are someone who only likes to eat fastfood or noodles. Noodle also falls under the category of staple food. haha. Rice costs 20 dollars per 10kg. It may seem cheap if u divide the cost per kg. It's 2 per kg. But comparing to the previous years, the price inflates tremendously. But what causes it?
Drought. Bad harvest. Due to these 2 reasons, rice has become insufficient for the population in the world. There is at least a world population of 3 billion. Can the farmers and producers supply to all without increasing the cost? Initially maybe yes. But the losses will expand as time goes by and soon the farmers will have nothing to feed on, nothing to feed their family. The country will soon lose their profit. Because rice is important to everyone, because rice is one food we cant live without, hence the scarcity of rice will lead to the inflation of prices. Maybe scarcity is rather harsh, insufficient would be more appropriate.
But why drought happens? We would only answer such question by saying it's just natural. A disaster. But dont you think such disasters are too much recently? Earthquake in sichuan, cyclone in myanmar, and typhoon in phillipines. It happened one after another. These show that our mother earth is sick and it's time we do something about it. We must go green. We have to use our resourceful wisely and usefully. We should implement the 3 Rs to all. Jus think about it.
Could we live to see another day if we keep being wasteful? Could humans still sustain their longevity? Probably, the nxt thing we would see is the increase in the mortality rate. These would all happen if we keep thawing the ice, deforestation, and many more harmful acts. We have sinned havent we? We did all these for our benefit, to improve our quality of life, to supply us with more resources to build and create more things. I wouldnt request for a total stop to such acts because we need them. But too much is... i do not know how to say. I may seem to be contradicting, but that is the fact. Perhaps, we have to start thinking moderation. But can we do it? Are we up to the task?
I would say yes if we put our heart and soul to do it. If we are determined well enough. I believe we can do it.
In all, i would just wanna say our mother nature is sick. It's time to restore its health. It's probably time we should act.
Anyway, above all that has mentioned are just my thoughts. It seems to be too ideal to come true. But sometimes it is good to dream. It gives us hope. =)

Recently, i'm going back to the old skool. I keep listening to the 80s songs. They are nice. Retro is the description, the word. Therefore, i changed my music to together in electric dreams. Nice. haha.
